Cute gift idea for a little fashion lover!

Hello girls!
Hope everyone's having good days and that the summer is here soon (because it's still cold here >_< )! I know, I know... I've been really bad in updating my blog even though I have tons of ideas in my head that I really want to post. I will try to post at least once a week, I hope it will work!

Today I'm going to give you a gift idea for a little fashion and design lover! If you know someone young that have a dream to become a fashion designer or that you think would like to draw fashion just for fun, this gift would be super good! So the gift I'm talking about is actually a book named "Drawing Fashion" by Hilary Lovell. I bought this book a few years ago before I started my fashion design studies. And even thought it's a book for younger ages, I loved it! Because I really, REALLY love fashion, it was a very happy moment for me getting this book. I bought it here in Sweden, so I have the swedish version. Honestly, this book helped me to choose poses for my project design! So it can still be useful even for me as a designer~

Hilary Lovell is a British designer and illustrator. She's been working in the fashion industry for 14 years. She has worked for high profile fashion houses such as Giorgio Armani, Hugo Boss and Estee Lauder, as well as high street chains Marks and Spencer and Next. She was the Senior Fashion Designer for Sindy dolls and has designed children's clothing and nursery ranges for the UK and worldwide. She has written more books about fashion if you want to buy them, but this is the one that I know and have read myself.

"Drawing Fashion" is a fantastic full-colour introduction guide to fashion drawing for children aged around 10 and up. This book will inspire and teach children to create their own fashion drawings in easy-to-follow steps. Readers will learn how to draw fashion figures and poses, and 18 fabulous outfits including trendy party clothes, designer-inspired looks, beachwear, red carpet dresses and more! It also includes a introduction section with tips on the best drawing tools, fashion line styles, inking and colouring and basic figure construction. There's also a small useful tip after every chapter. The figures all have healthy proportions and soft features so readers can learn to create great fashion drawings. You can find this book and the other books written by her on Amazon.com But try to search in the bookstores in your country at first.

Here's a sneak peek of how the book looks like inside!

In addition, there's also the books called "Top Model" who's also perfect for children who wants to draw fashion and are "lazy" to draw the body! The Top Model design books for children are really fun and popular between little girls. They can be used from around 7 and up. They have so many different edition's you can choose between. There's also stickers, templates and patterns inside. I have the "Glamour Special" edition that I bought for a long time ago, and I also have the "Fashion Kids" edition that I actually bought this year! I saw it while I was pregnant and I really wanted it because it looked so cute! So I bought it after giving birth to my baby girl. I'm not sure how it is in other countries... but here in Sweden, you can find Top Model in bookstores or in the toy stores. If you can't find it, you can also order it on Amazon.com

You can see these two Top Model books down here...

This drawing is not complete yet, but I just wanted to show how it looks inside. Below you can see the other really cute Top Model book! <33

Hope this was a great and useful post with a good gift idea for the young dreamers! <33

Which fashion designer is your favorite?

Hmm... Fashion designer's are...  my future "workmates"?? xD  (Lol I don't  mean working together, I'm refering to working in the same business industry ;p hehe). Okay let's get to the point! Is there any fashion designer that you love or see as an inspiration? For me... actually... even though I've always been interested in fashion, to be honest, I didn't know so much information about fashion designer's. Of course if I saw a random runway on TV I did like to watch it, and I still do! But I always thought about the designs, not the designer himself. So I haven't been "stalking" any fashion designer, if you get what I mean ;p  Anyway, for our extra assignment for lecture 1, we had to choose a fashion designer to write about him/her. So it was hard to choose as there's MANY fashion designer's out there. I started with reading short about 36 famous and historical fashion designer's, and then I chose 11 from them that ...

How and where you can design your own shoes... Talking about Shoes of Prey!

Hello girls! Do we have any shoe lovers here?? ;-) In this post and in the comming one, I'm going to talk about Shoes of Prey !  The company that makes your own shoe design! I don't know if you've heard about Shoes of Prey or not.. . But Shoes of Prey was founded by Michael Fox, Mike Knapp and Jodie Fox in Sydney in 2009.  I heard about them a few years ago. I belive it was in 2009 or 2010. At that time the youtuber Michelle Phan uploaded a video about how she designed her own shoes and showed us the finish product. And since that time, I saved their webbsite. I can't find Michelle Phans video anymore though. I really liked the idea of designing your own shoes, and not just that, they're handmade! I keept checking their site from time to time, and I realized how they improved and they keep adding new choices. Here's an introduction video to Shoes of Prey so you can understand a bit more of how it actually works! So that was a bit about Shoes ...
