New post after a time...
I didn't want to write a post until I finished my assignment that I was working on with.. so I finished it yesterday and today I'm writing a new post about my fashion design studies! ^~^
I'm studying from Style Academy, and it's online. I hesitated at the start if I should study online or not, but now I'm really satisfied and I enjoy it! =) It's not the first time for me to study online though. The good thing is that you can study at any time wherever you are, even if you travel around, the only thing you have to do is to bring your laptop with you and your books (if there are any books or other materials). The bad thing is that you have to be responsible for everything and do everything on your own. You can ask the teacher for help of course, if needed. I'm doing well now.. it was just hard at the start when you have to get to know the new process and how you can do this and that.
Yeah, so my current studies from Style Academy are divided into courses, and to get to the final diploma I have to study five courses before the final course (the 6:th one). The courses I have to study are:
1- The basics of fashion
2- Drawing fashion
3- Coloring techniques
4- Types of fabrics
5- Fashion secrets
And then the final course...
6- Professional Diploma in Fashion Design
The last courses' name, "Professional Diploma in Fashion Design", sounds cool, right?!! xD hehe~ Anyway, those courses above are the ones I have to study if I want to become a fashion designer. But they do have courses to become a fashion stylist, makeup artist or hair stylist too. But for now I'm only focusing on being a fashion designer.
Right now I'm studying the course "The Basics of Fashion". It's about the things you have to know before you start drawing and so on. All courses has lectures, that you get in a DVD. My current course has five lectures. The teacher may also decide a sudden time for a live lecture online where she and the students can talk together and discuss at the same time. For every lecture there's small assignments you do just for your self without showing them to the teacher. Then there's a bigger assignment that you have to do and you have to send it to the teacher. After that there's an extra assignment that you can do and send to the teacher just if you want to be a more creative and ambitious student.
You have to do all these things before the exam time (but when it comes to the extra assignments, you can send them even after the exam). And when you've done the exam you're going to get a project that you have to do so you can get your diploma for the course. The diplomas' will be sent from Canada Global Center, so it's an international accreditation. And that's how every course works! Now I've only worked with lecture 1 and done the assignments for it. I have to watch lecture 2 as soon as possible! I think I'm going to watch it today.
This is my package that I got from Style Academy!! Inside, there was a file with all the assignments for the course and a DVD with all the lectures that you have to watch. And you also get a password for the electronic board, where you can ask questions, chat with other students and send your assignments. Lol as you may notice... the package didn't have any "bling bling", and my name wasn't written on it in that way, not even the "Style Academy" is written there xD Kekekeke I made it look like that with an app... I think it looks better this way~ =P
