Which fashion designer is your favorite?

Hmm... Fashion designer's are...

my future "workmates"?? xD (Lol I don't mean working together, I'm refering to working in the same business industry ;p hehe). Okay let's get to the point!

Is there any fashion designer that you love or see as an inspiration?
For me... actually... even though I've always been interested in fashion, to be honest, I didn't know so much information about fashion designer's. Of course if I saw a random runway on TV I did like to watch it, and I still do! But I always thought about the designs, not the designer himself. So I haven't been "stalking" any fashion designer, if you get what I mean ;p

Anyway, for our extra assignment for lecture 1, we had to choose a fashion designer to write about him/her. So it was hard to choose as there's MANY fashion designer's out there. I started with reading short about 36 famous and historical fashion designer's, and then I chose 11 from them that I thought was interesting. And after reading more about these 11 designers and watching some of their designs I chose 2 of them. And then finally after a hard time choosing between those two designers, Vera Wang and Elie Saab, I chose to write about Elie Saab! I chose him because I like Elie Saab's style, that is "a unique fusion of western and eastern culture", which I could notice directly before even reading about him.

A picture of Elie Saab.

Elie Saab is a fashion designer born in Beirut, Lebanon. He was born 4:th July, year 1964. By reading about his story, you can see that he got famous for his talent and nothing else. That's how he made success! He is self trained and was already interested in fashion design as a child, at the age of nine, so he began sewing. Elie Saab’s talents grew and he started selling his designs to women in his neighborhood. Year 1982, when Saab was 18 years old, he opened his own couture atelier in Beirut. And later, his reputation grew, and now are his designs even attracted by high society women out of Beirut’s borders. Now he have both Haute Couture and ready-to-wear collections! He even launched his own fragrance 2011, by the name "Le Parfum" by Elie Saab.

Notable clients of Elie Saab:
Royalty dressed by Saab:
Princess Beatrice of York, Clotilde Princess of Venice and Piedmont, Princess Margaretha of Liechtenstein, Grand Duchess Maria Teresa of Luxembourg, Marie-Chantal Crown Princess of Greece, Queen Rania of Jordan, Princess Sirivannavari Nariratana of Thailand, Stéphanie Hereditary Grand Duchess of Luxembourg, Princess Claire of Luxembourg, Victoria Crown Princess of Sweden and Princess Madeleine of Sweden.
Celebrities dressed by Saab:
Christina Aguilera, Halle Berry, Beyoncé, Angelina Jolie, Anggun, Mila Kunis, Katy Perry, Emma Watson, Catherine Zeta-Jones, Michelle Dockery, Aishwarya Rai, Salma Hayek, Taylor Swift and Sandra Bullock.

Now, I'm going to share with you some of his designs that I liked!

What do you think of these designs? Aren't they gorgeous?! I especially like the embroidery on these dresses! Of course, there's many other beautiful designs but I just wanted to show some of them. Now tell me which of these designs by Elie Saab did you like the most? =)

Cute gift idea for a little fashion lover!

Hello girls! Hope everyone's having good days and that the summer is here soon (because it's still cold here >_< )! I know, I know... I've been really bad in updating my blog even though I have tons of ideas in my head that I really want to post. I will try to post at least once a week, I hope it will work! Today I'm going to give you a gift idea for a little fashion and design lover! If you know someone young that have a dream to become a fashion designer or that you think would like to draw fashion just for fun, this gift would be super good! So the gift I'm talking about is actually a book named "Drawing Fashion" by Hilary Lovell. I bought this book a few years ago before I started my fashion design studies. And even thought it's a book for younger ages, I loved it! Because I really, REALLY love fashion, it was a very happy moment for me getting this book. I bought it here in Sweden, so I have the swedish version. Honest...

New post in a new place~

Hello guuuys!! It's a new month, a new week and a new day!! And here is Sara with new energy in a new country! I'm actually back in Sweden! Yeay!! \(^o^)/ If you've read my earlier posts, you'll know that Sweden is my home country as I'm born and grown up here. So that's why I was happy to be back here now as well as because I LOVE traveling, and also because I would like to give birth to my child here in Sweden. So this is my first post from Sweden since I've been living abroad for a time now~ Actually I've been here for about a month now already, I came at the start of September and it's already October now. Time pass so fast... Anyway... I know I've been really bad with updating this blog and I'm so so sorry for that! I hope you're not getting bored and that you still have patience with me~ I will try my best to have more time for my blog. Ps. There will be an upc...

The Fashion World! What kind of fashion designer would I like to be?

Hello girls! =) I'm working on with the second lecture, but I'm going to talk a little bit about the things we learned and talked about in the first lecture, The fashion world! ^~^ Actually, before we started with any lecture and before we learned anything, we had to send in an assignment where we chose a picture of a design and then described what kind of model it was, what texture was used, what color the design is of etc... out of self-taught knowledge, just so the teacher can see how much you know and so on. But I think I was TOO careful and picky when I was searching for a picture to analyze, that it took longer time than writing the analyze itself :p This is the picture that I chose for my first assignment, the analyze~ Now to the first lecture!! --------->> The first lecture was really interesting and made me determined about my goals! My goals was almost the same before this lecture, but it became more clear. It was about the two types of fashion desi...
