My own Shoe Design x Shoes of Prey ~Review~

Hello shoe lovers!
Yes, it's about shoes again! And this time you can finally see my design that I did and bought from shoesofprey.com Even though I loved my high heel designs I chose to order ballet flats instead, so I can wear it daily. I was really excited to finally order from shoes of prey for the first time.

I loved the package and the things they included in it. Look how beautiful it looks! When you open it, the first thing you se is a letter to you. On the letter it's written what they have included in your package as well as who you can contact if you're not pleased with your design results. There's also a picture of your design. You can't see it clearly here, but the red stamp on the letter is a wax stamp with a shoe on <33 Other things that's included is a shoebag and a smaller bag with some inserts.

Here is my design that I made on their webbsite before it became a real shoe! As I said earlier, I chose to make ballet flats because I wanted something comfortable that I can wear daily. Now, the colors I chose was black, silver and pink. I chose black so it could suit with almost anything I would wear, and we all know black is elegant to wear. I added a bit of silver to make it different and more unique, and of course there have to be a bit of pink too! ;-)

These above are the fabrics I used for my design. You can see my shoes in a closer view on the next picture. I'm going to be honest here and tell how I feel about my new shoes. I love wearing them, they're really cute and they look exactly like the design I made on their webbsite. There's just a small problem I had at the begining. The first time I wore them on a small walk I got wounds on the back of my feets. The sole got some small holes too. I got shocked because I've seen most of their customer's being satisfied. So I decided to ask Ginger @gjarvis, a digital artist, professor of  graphic design and also a winner of 52 shoes from Shoes of Prey(!), if she experienced the same thing. She's really friendly and answered that it depends on the fabric and fit. But that isn't much different than other brands though, she said. I agree, it's true!

She said that 90% of the shoes (from Shoes of Prey) are perfectly comfortable for her! Things became different for me later. I noticed that the holes on the sole are just some small pits, nothing major. And most important of all, I don't get blisters anymore when I wear them! I'm using the inserts on the back now and it feels better. I may not be able to wear them on a long walk (I know they're not even supposed to be for that hehe...), but I can wear them while shopping without hurting my feets. I love them! So yes, I would actually recommend Shoes of Prey to a friend, and I would like to design and buy shoes from them again.

Later on I actually did an interview with Ginger (@gjarvis) asking her more about the shoes so you can get a more useful review! You can also see her professional pictures of the shoes she have designed. These three pictures are just a few of her pictures that I love! You can visit her instagram to see more of her shoes. You can read the interview below...

- Which style of the shoes do you like the most and which one is the most comfortable one?
My favorite style  are the 4" pointed pumps! So classic and looks great in almost all fabrics. I also find these really comfortable, especially the style with open side. I get them a half size up to make sure my toes have lots of space.

- After testing a few different heels, which heel height do you prefer?
For shoes that I walk a lot in, 3in is the most comfortable, and even more so in a block heel. 4" is my favorite for a classic shoe with some comf.

- Which of the materials have you found comfortable and which ones not so comfortable?
Soft leather is very comfy. Sometimes patent leather can rub a little, so better to have it away from rubbing spots like the toes for me.

- Is there any speciall color that you've found stunning?
I was really impressed with the pink/purple soft leather. Gorgeous colour. I actually also really love the snakeskins. They make the shoe a little more fragile, but really cool and unique.

- Any additional tip or recommendation for the ones who want to design their own shoes on shoesofprey.com?
My best advice is to take advantage of the inserts and grips if things are a little loose. They make a big difference. I also tend to use light colors or black for the inside of the shoe. My personal favorite is light pink.

I hope this review was helpful. And thank you so much Ginger for answering my questions!

Cute gift idea for a little fashion lover!

Hello girls! Hope everyone's having good days and that the summer is here soon (because it's still cold here >_< )! I know, I know... I've been really bad in updating my blog even though I have tons of ideas in my head that I really want to post. I will try to post at least once a week, I hope it will work! Today I'm going to give you a gift idea for a little fashion and design lover! If you know someone young that have a dream to become a fashion designer or that you think would like to draw fashion just for fun, this gift would be super good! So the gift I'm talking about is actually a book named "Drawing Fashion" by Hilary Lovell. I bought this book a few years ago before I started my fashion design studies. And even thought it's a book for younger ages, I loved it! Because I really, REALLY love fashion, it was a very happy moment for me getting this book. I bought it here in Sweden, so I have the swedish version. Honest...

Hello~ ^^ Short introduction for my blog!

Hello fashion lovers! ^^ This is my first post and actually the first time I blog too! xD So I'm still new to this.. But it doesn't look hard.. Lol :p Anyway.. This week I had in my mind that I want to start a blog. Why? Because this month I actually started studying fashion design!! Woohoooooo! \(^o^)/ I'm so happy for that fact because I love fashion design and I've been dreaming about studying it since schooldays, as I want to become a fashion designer! So I had to wait to finish school first.. then high school.. and now after that I graduated from high school this summer I took a rest for last term and started studying fashion design now in january! =) So I thought by making this blog I can share with you my journey while studying fashion design~ And I may post things about fashion and beauty too, or repost interesting things! But the main reason is to share my experience while studying for those who are interested to read, and for those who has similar or o...

How and where you can design your own shoes... Talking about Shoes of Prey!

Hello girls! Do we have any shoe lovers here?? ;-) In this post and in the comming one, I'm going to talk about Shoes of Prey !  The company that makes your own shoe design! I don't know if you've heard about Shoes of Prey or not.. . But Shoes of Prey was founded by Michael Fox, Mike Knapp and Jodie Fox in Sydney in 2009.  I heard about them a few years ago. I belive it was in 2009 or 2010. At that time the youtuber Michelle Phan uploaded a video about how she designed her own shoes and showed us the finish product. And since that time, I saved their webbsite. I can't find Michelle Phans video anymore though. I really liked the idea of designing your own shoes, and not just that, they're handmade! I keept checking their site from time to time, and I realized how they improved and they keep adding new choices. Here's an introduction video to Shoes of Prey so you can understand a bit more of how it actually works! So that was a bit about Shoes ...
